- The program will initially concentrate on notebooks, with plans for future expansion and diversification of its product offerings.
HP has launched a refurbished laptop program in India to provide cost-effective access to laptops for retail consumers and businesses. This is the first market for HP's refurbished PC venture, which is expected to expand to other regions in 2024.
The program is being done together with an HP-certified partner from whom retail consumers as well as business organisations will purchase affordable HP PCs. The Indian refurbishment program now offers subscription models where companies can buy top-notch techs monthly either for six, twelve, or twenty-four months. The same model for providing refurbished PCs to end-users and small businesses on an OEM basis is now being used to sell refurbished PCs to retail customers on a transactional basis.
The program will initially concentrate on notebooks, with plans for future expansion and diversification of its product offerings.
The partner of HP will purchase devices from enterprises and retail consumers, restoring them according to its requirements. After refurbishing the company’s partner will sell these products by offering comprehensive post-sales support such as warranty services.
This initiative is a significant step in HP's ongoing mission to bring affordable technology to everyone and to foster greater digital inclusivity in society. It also underscores HP's commitment to achieving a 75% circularity rate for products and packaging by 2030.
